Supreme Court Registry officials to contribute part of their salary in PM CARE fund to fight COVID19

Supreme Court Registry officials have voluntarily expressed their desire to contribute part of their salary in PM CARE fund to fight COVID19.

“We are all in the know of pandemic of COVID-19, which has engulfed the entire world posing serious challenges for millions of people worldwide and India is no exception. At a time when the coronavirus is posing severe health and economic problems for our country, it is imperative to contribute by donating generously for the cause of humanity”, said circular.

According to the Circular issued by Mr Rajesh Kumar Goel, Registrar, Cash and Accounts said, the officers/officials of the Registry may contribute by way of donation to the Prime Minister Citizens Assistance and Relief in Emergency situation.  Further it is decided that the financial donations would be made in the following terms:

  • All Gazetted Officers: 3 days’ salary
  • All Non-Gazetted Employees: 2 days’ salary
  • All Group C Non-Clerical Employees: 1 days’ salary

It has been further clarified through the circular that those officers who do not wish to contribute on these terms may intimate the DDO, Supreme Court through SMS on the number 9958450098 by mentioning name, designation and employee code by 10 AM on 31 March, 2020.

Non-receipt of SMS by the indicated date shall be taken as their consent to donate, as above. It may be noted that the contribution is exempted under 80G of the Income Tax Act.
