The Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal on Monday ordered for an FIR to be registered against the Maulana who led the congregation in the West Nizamuddin after it came to light that a lot of people who attended the congregation have been showing symptoms of Coronavirus. The Chief Minister said that holding such congregation goes against the orders of the Central Government for lockdown in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
The Delhi based Tablighi Jamaat headquarter in Nizamuddin West became the new hotspot for Coronavirus outbreak in the city of Delhi after it hosted a mass gathering this month which was attended by a host of followers both Indian as well as foreign people.
The area has been put under lockdown by the Delhi Police and the Municipal Authorities and the Delhi Government has launched house-to-house mapping exercise in the nearby colonies.
Following the congregation at Nizamuddin West, news came from across the country of people being detected with the symptoms of COVID-19 along with the news of death of 9 people who attended the congregation. Various states of the country have gone into a mode of alert regarding the people of those states who attended the congregation.
