The Allahabad High Court on Thursday has taken Suo Motu cognizance of the unhygienic and Inhumane conditions at various Quarantine Centres in the State and for providing better treatment to Corona Positive.
The bench of Chief Justice Govind Mathur along with his companion Judge, Justice Siddhartha Varma registered a PIL upon receiving a e-mail by an advocate of the High Court, Gaurav K. Gaur, highlighting the pathetic conditions at the quarantine centres.
Advocate Gaurav K. Gaur informed the court that an engineer recently succumbed to Corona Virus infection. He had informed his wife telephonically that the quarantine centre where he and his family members were lodged did not maintain adequate hygiene.
The court observed “It is brought to our notice that no adequate treatment was provided to Sri Virendra Singh, Engineer who unfortunately succumbed to Corona Virus on 6th May, 2020.”
“A video clip is also noticed to be in circulation disclosing pathetic conditions at quarantine centres. Learned Chief Standing Counsel is directed to avail necessary instructions in the matter,” said the Court.
Let this petition for writ be listed on 11th May, 2020”, said the Court.
