Sakshi Misra, daughter of Bareilly MLA Rajesh Misra who alleged life threat to her and his husband moved Allahabad High Court seeking protection on Thursday.
The court has admitted her plea.
Misra said in her plea that she and her husband face threat to life from her father and other family members. She claimed to be a major and said that she had married the person of her choice without any pressure.
In the petition, she further alleged that due to caste reasons, her father is against the marriage and he is influencing the police.
Few days back, Sakshi had made a shocking revelation on social media that her father would kill her for marrying a Dalit boy.
In the social media video, she along with her husband Ajitesh Kumar claimed that they face threat to their lives from Bareilly MLA.
She was seen saying in the video: “My father will murder me and my hubby if he finds us. He can’t withstand his daughter marrying a boy from a Dalit family. My father’s aides are searching us.”
However, Sakshi’s father have rubbished the claims of her daughter saying that he was not against her marrying a dalit boy. But his main concern about the age gap between her daughter and his husband which was 9 years.
“The boy doesn’t earn much that is why I am worried because it is the question of my daughter’s future. I want them to return home,” Rajesh Misra told reporters.
