Four lawyers Avinash Gharote, Nitin Suryawanshi, Anil Kilor and Milind Jadhav have been appointed as Additional judges with the Bombay High Court for a period of two years.

Earlier, President Ramnath Kovind had signed on appointments warrants of all the four additional judges as powers vested on him under Article 224 of the Indian Constitution.

The Supreme Court collegium had in March cleared the names of the four above mentioned advocates.

Bombay HC has an approved strength of 94 judges including 71 permanent and 23 additional judges. As on date, there are 51 permanent and 19 additional judges and there is a deficit of 20 permanent judges and four additional judges.
