The Bombay High Court issued notice on a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) related to the provisioning of Electric Vehicles (EV) charging stations for private and commercial buildings.
The counsel for the Petitioner submitted that the Government under its resolution dated 23 July 2021 has introduced a policy viz to bring about an amendment of Building Code and Town Planning Rules for provisioning of EV charging stations for private and commercial buildings, so also, amendment in the model building bye-laws is proposed in February 2019.
It is further submitted by the counsel , that the Co-operative Department may amend the model bye-laws of the Co-operative Societies making it mandatory to provide the charging infrastructure in the Co-operative Housing Societies.
While considering the PIL , the Division Bench of Justice S.V. Gangapurwala and Justice S.G. Dige issued notice to the respondents.
