Akshat Sharma is the Lead Product Manager for Google Classroom. In this role, Akshat is responsible for setting the product vision and strategy, defining new features and functionalities, and overall success of the product.
Akshat leads an organization of talented engineers, designers and other product managers who execute the various product efforts. He has led various efforts at Google across several different products over the past 6 years and prior to that was an early engineer at Microsoft where he built the foundations of the Azure Cloud Platform.
Akshat is also passionate about the education space outside of work. He serves on his local school district’s technology advisory committee and has previously contributed to non-profits focused on education in India. Akshat is an alumnus of The University of Chicago, Booth School of Business (MBA) and Indian Institute of Technology (IIT-BHU, Computer Science Engineering).
In his free time, Akshat enjoys playing saxophone and tennis and spending time with his 4-year and 9-month-old daughters.
