The Allahabad High Court on Monday issued bailable warrants for the arrest of senior Basic Education department officers Sarvendra Vikram Bahadur Singh and Deepak Kumar and directed them to appear on December 20, 2021.
A single-judge bench of Justice Abdul Moin passed this order while hearing a contempt application filed by Rekha Singh. The Court order dated November 8, 2021 had granted 10 days’ time to Sarvendra Vikram Bahadur Singh, Director of Education (Basic), UP Prayagraj and Deepak Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary (Basic), Government of Uttar Pradesh, to comply with the order dated September 21, 2021 passed by the writ court failing which they shall remain present in Court on the date fixed.
The Court observed that no one responded on behalf of Sarvendra Vikram Bahadur Singh and Deepak Kumar despite the name of Nisheeth Yadav being indicated in the cause list from the side of the respondent. The Court further observed that neither Sarvendra Vikram Bahadur Singh nor Deepak Kumar are present.
“As such, let a bailable warrant of arrest be issued against Sarvendra Vikram Bahadur Singh, Director of Education (Basic), UP Prayagraj and Deepak Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary (Basic) Government of UP, requiring their presence before the Court on December 20, 2021”
-the court ordered. The Court has fixed the next hearing of the petition on December 20, 2021.

The Court had ordered to decide on the condonation of delay in filing the application for appointment in the deceased dependent quota. The BSA had sent the recommendation to the Director on Aug 24, 2021. The Court gave an opportunity to comply with the order, yet no information was given and no one appeared to present the side of the officials.
