Allahabad HC Suspends Functioning Of Subordinate Courts Amid COVID-19 Till Further Orders

The Allahabad High Court on Saturday issued a circular addressing to all the District Judges for closure of all subordinate courts till further orders in wake of extension of lockdown amid outbreak of COVID-19.

The Circular said that the court has reiterated its previous order passed on 25th March, 2020 regarding closure of all the courts subordinate to the High Court of Judicature at Allahabad, till further orders.

It was requested to be apprised to the concerned persons accordingly for necessary compliance and also to bring content of the circular into the notice of all the Presiding Officers of Commercial Courts, Motor Accident Claims Tribunals and Land Acquisition Rehabilitation and Resettlement Authorities also, as the case may be of the district for necessary information and strict compliance, in letter and spirit.

As per the notice of High Court of Allahabad on issued on 25th March, 2020 it was informed that in suppression of all administrative notifications, circular etc issued earlier the court work in the Allahabad High Court will remain suspended with immediate effect till further orders.

“All the courts subordinate to the High Court of Judicature at Allahabad and all commercial courts, Motor Accident Claims Tribunal and Land Acquisition Rehabilitation and Resettlement Authorities across the State of U.P. shall also remain closed till further orders. The remands and bails of arrested person shall be done as per holiday practice”, read the notice dated 25thMarch, 2020.
