The Allahabad High Court has directed the District Magistrate, Azamgarh, to file a personal affidavit along with the action taken report after investigating the obstruction in the prayer and religious rituals of a Christian missionary in Ismailpur Bharthipur village of Tarwan tehsil.
A Single Bench of Justice Ashwani Kumar Mishra Justice Ashutosh Srivastava passed this order while hearing a PIL filed by God To Glory Charitable Trust and Another.
In this petition, grievance is that without there being any justification the respondents are interfering in performance of religious prayers and ritual ceremonies at village Ismailpur Bharthipur, Police Station Tarwan, Tehsil-Mehnagar, District-Azamgarh.
The Court called upon the concerned District Magistrate to examine the issue and file his personal affidavit in response to the averments made in the petition.
The Court has fixed the next hearing of the petition on June 26, 2023.
