Allahabad High Court directs DM Bulandshahr to submit report in Lekhpal taking bribes to hand over allotted land

The Allahabad High Court has directed the Bulandshahr District Magistrate to investigate and submit a report against Lekhpal Vinod and Kanungo Bhopal Singh, accused of demanding bribes to hand over the possession of the allotted land in Consolidation.

A Single Bench of Justice Siddharth passed this order while hearing a petition filed by Bobby Kumar and Another.

In this cas, the grievance of the petitioners is that even after notification under section 52 of the U.P. C.H Act, the petitioners have not been given possession over the land allotted to them by the authorities.

There is an allegation that money is being demanded by Lekhpal, Vinod and Kanoongo, Bhopal Singh for delivery of the possession to the petitioners.

“The District Magistrate/District Deputy Director of Consolidation, Bulandshahar is directed to get possession delivered to the petitioners as per proceedings under the U.P. C.H Act within two weeks or show cause by filing personal affidavit and initiate inquiry against the aforesaid Lekhpal and Kanoongo on the complaint to be submitted by the petitioner in writing within a week against the two employees named above and submit report before the court on the next date fixed.

On failure to comply with the order, the District Magistrate/District Deputy Director of Consolidation aforesaid will appear in person before the Court on the next date fixed”, the Court ordered.

The Court has fixed the next hearing of the petition on January 4, 2023.
