Allahabad High Court takes tough stand on poorly installed electricity poles in Lucknow colony

The petitioner, who is an ex-corporator, moved Court with a prayer for reinstalling the electricity poles which have been inserted on the dividers between E-Block Sabzi Mandi to E-Block New Tempo Stand, Rajajipuram, Lucknow, as the poles are not installed firmly, which may cause huge loss of life of the persons residing in the said location.

The Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court on Tuesday took a tough stand on the plight of electric poles installed on the divider from E-Block Sabzi Mandi to New Tempo Stand in Rajajipuram, Lucknow.

The Division Bench of Justice Ramesh Sinha and Justice  Vivek Varma passed this order while hearing  a PIL filed by Shoeb Ahmad. The petitioner, who is an ex-corporator, moved Court with a prayer for reinstalling the electricity poles which have been inserted on the dividers between E-Block Sabzi Mandi to E-Block New Tempo Stand, Rajajipuram, Lucknow, as the poles are not installed firmly, which may cause huge loss of life of the persons residing in the said location.

“The material brought on record shows the sorry state of affairs which calls for immediate attention of the Court in the PIL petition and requires prompt action on the part of the respondent no.4 (Municipal Commissioner),”

-the Court observed.

The counsel for respondent no.4 has assured the Court that the electricity poles on the divider in the area in question would be put in order. The Court directed the Counsel for respondent no.4 to seek instructions in the matter and filed a personal affidavit by the next date fixed and set the next hearing on November 18, 2021.
