The High Court of Andhra Pradesh through an official notification has instructed all the Advocates to wear “plain white shirt/white salwar kameez/ white saree, with a plain white neck band” during the hearings and proceedings before the High Court of Andhra Pradesh and all the subordinate Courts, Tribunals and Commissions through Virtual Court System till medical Exigencies exist.
The notification states that the High Court has taken the decision after taking into consideration the Circular issued by the Supreme Court on May 13 and the Administrative Order of the Bar Council of India both of which stated that Advocates may presently wear “plain white shirt/ white salwar kameez/white saree, with a plain white neck band “ during the hearings and proceedings before High Court and all other all the subordinate Courts, Tribunals and Commissions through Virtual Court System and no Coats or Gowns are required to be worn during such period during which the threat of spread of COVID 19 exists until further orders.
The notification has clarified that the notification was issued as a precautionary measure to contain the spread of COVID 19 infection and shall operate until further orders of the Court.
