Centre appoints 5 new Chief Justices, notifies transfer of 4

The Union government on Monday notified the appointment of new Chief Justices for the High Courts of Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Gauhati, Patna and Jharkhand. It also approved the transfer of four High Court Chief Justices.

A notification issued by the Ministry of Law and Justice said Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva, (parent High Court, Delhi), was appointed as Chief Justice of the Madhya Pradesh High Court, where he was currently serving as a judge.

Justice Vibhu Bakhru, currently serving as judge at the Delhi High Court, was appointed as Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court.

Justice Ashutosh Kumar, judge of the Patna High Court, was appointed as Chief Justice of the Gauhati High Court.

Justice Vipul Manubhai Pancholi (parent High Court, Gujarat) was appointed as Chief Justice of the Patna High Court, where he was currently serving as a judge.

Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan, currently serving as a judge of the Himachal Pradesh High Court, was appointed as Chief Justice of the Jharkhand High Court.

The Centre also approved the transfer of four High Court Chief Justices.

Rajasthan High Court Chief Justice Manindra Mohan Shrivastava was transferred to the Madras High Court in the same capacity.

Tripura High Court Chief Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh was transferred to the Telangana High Court as Chief Justice. 

Jharkhand High Court Chief Justice MS Ramachandra Rao was transferred to the Tripura High Court in the same capacity.

Madras High Court Chief Justice KR Shriram was transferred to the Rajasthan High Court as Chief Justice..
