Bombay High Court makes e-mechanism mandatory for filing of pleas related to criminal and commercial cases

The Bombay High Court has made it compulsory to use the e-filing mechanism for filing petitions pertaining to criminal and commercial cases.

The Notifications to this effect were released by both the original and appellate sides of the Court.

The judicial registrar of the High Court, has made e-filing mandatory for all the matters pertaining to commercial division;

E-filing has also been made compulsory in matters pertaining to all cases concerning Direct, Indirect tax; and non-commercial arbitration cases.

This will be effective from January 2.

The appellate side registrar of the High Court issued a notice making it mandatory for e-filing of the following cases:

  1. Criminal Writ Petition
  2. Applications under Section 482 of the appeal
  3. Criminal writ petitions.
  4. Criminal leave to appeal

5) Criminal ALP (Leave to file Appeal–Private)

6) Criminal Revision

7) Second Appeal

8) Miscellaneous Civil Application

9) Arbitration Petition

10) Contempt Petition (Civil).

This will be effective from January 9.

The Court also clarified that filing of new cases would include all kinds of replies to the documents.
