The Bombay High Court recently has issued notice on a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) seeking orders for protection of trees which are transplanted.
The PIL has been filed by NGO Shivtej Foundation and others .The petition expressed that compensatory plantation of trees is not undertaken as per conditions mentioned in the permissions granted for felling trees.
While considering the PIL the ,Chief Justice Bench of Dipankar Datta and Justice V. G. Bisht issued notice to the respondents.
The Court has directed the respondents to file a reply-affidavit by 20th June, 2022;and rejoinder thereto, if any, may be filed by 8th July, 2022.
