Budaun POCSO court sentences two men to 20 years jail for gangraping minor 

The Budaun special court  convicted two persons in a 10-year-old gangrape case.

Special Judge POCSO Act III Dr. Mohammad Ilyas sentenced them both to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 35,000 each on both convicts. On depositing the amount of fine, the entire amount will be given to the victim, the Court directed.

On December 30, 2013, a woman from a village under Hazratpur police station lodged a report of gangrape. According to her, Monu and Rinku, residents of Koda Jayakaran village of the police station area, took her minor daughter with them by seducing them. After about 10 days search, the police found the minor girl.

The victim told police that the accused Monu and Rinku raped her. The police filed a report against Monu and Rinku and filed a chargesheet in the court only against Monu. 

Special Judge POCSO Act Dr. Mohammad Ilyas observed the evidence on paper. The court heard the arguments of Special Public Prosecutor Pradeep Bharti, CP Singh and defence counsel on behalf of the prosecution.
