ILNS: Justice Sharad Arvind Bobde will retire as the 47th Chief Justice of India (CJI) of the Supreme Court tomorrow.
As part of the Supreme Court tradition, he will share the Bench tomorrow with next CJI N.V. Ramana. The Bench will comprise four Judges – CJI S.A. Bobde, Justice N.V. Ramana, Justice A.S. Bopanna and Justice V. Ramasubramanian.
Today, on his second last day as the apex court CJI, Justice Bobde has initiated a suo motu cognisance on an important issue related to public life and health that has been hit hard due to the Covid-19 spike over the last few weeks. The CJI-led Bench will commence its hearing tomorrow on the issue.
