Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud has been invited to attend ‘J20,’ a seminar of Heads of Supreme Courts and Constitutional Courts of all G20 members.
Scheduled to take place from May 12-14 in the beautiful town of Rio de Janeiro, the Summit is being organised by the Brazilian Federal Supreme Court in light of Brazil’s presidency of G20 2024.
As per the official list, the event will witness participation from key dignitaries and heads of various Supreme Courts of G20 members.
These include the African Union, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, European Union, France, Germany, India, Italy, Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, UK, Portugal and Spain.
The conference will focus on thre major themes. These are (a) Promotion of citizenship and social inclusion by the Judiciary; (b) Climate litigation and sustainable development; and (3) Digital transformation and the use of technology to enhance judicial efficiency.
