The Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court has directed all the Unit Heads in the State to deduct one day basic pay of all Judicial Officers and staff members in their units and forward the same to the Chief Justice Relief Fund for donating the same to the CM’s Relief Fund to combat COVID-19 crisis. This has been done on request be the Telangana State Judicial Employees Association. This step has been taken in wake of complete lockdown declared by the Government if India throughout the country with effect from the midnight of 24th March 202 for 21 days due to the COVID-19 lockdown.
The High Court of Telangana issued a circular to all the unit heads in the State of Telangana, with a request to communicate the circular instruction to all the Judicial Officers working in their unit and for implementing the circular instructions without any deviation.
The President of Telangana State Judicial Employees Association, Hyderabad in his representation to the Telangana High Court, had informed the Court that of all the Judicial Employees of subordinate Judiciary of the entire state of Telangana have unanimously decided to contribute their one day basic pay from their salary of April 2020 to the Chief Minster’s Relief Fund to combat COVID-19.
The Judicial Officers in the State also informed their respective unit heads regarding their willingness to donate the amount to the Chief Minister, Government of Telangana.
The Chief Justice on consideration of the request and directed the unit heads to deduct the one day salary of all Judicial Officers and staff members and forward the same to the Chief Minsiter’s Relief Fund. All the Unit Heads have also been directed to communicate the circular to all the Judicial Officers in their respective units for taking necessary action.
