The Delhi High Court has directed the Delhi Development Authority to conduct aerial surveys at regular intervals and ensure that no unauthorized construction comes up at Sanjay Van near Vasant Kunj.
Hearing the plea through video conferencing, the division bench of Chief Justice D.N. Patel and Justice Jyoti Singh noted, “If any unauthorized construction is found, then it shall either be removed or demolished.”
The bench had taken suo motu cognizance in the matter after two video clippings went viral over social media in relation to the alleged encroachment in Sanjay Van.
The counsel appearing for the respondents submitted,
“All the structures around the part have been removed and we have done a survey through drone.”
Earlier, the bench was informed that there are 77 Mazars and the DDA has performed aerial survey, whereas, the Chief Justice had directed that the DDA should take steps for restriction of any further construction. Some mechanism may be adopted.

The bench has disposed of the writ petition directing DDA to ensure that no unauthorized construction comes up in the Sanjay Van near Vasant Kunj and in case it comes up the same has to be removed or demolished.
