Delhi High Court on Thursday directed the state to explain its order directing closure of Delhi Borders uploading the same on the official website of the Delhi Government in a plea seeking opening of Delhi Border.
A division bench presided by the Chief Justice D.N. Patel and Justice Prateek Jalan of Delhi High Court while conducting hearing through video conferencing noted that the order of the Delhi Government doesn’t prohibit the people living outside the Delhi to come inside Delhi for medical emergencies.
The Delhi HC bench has been hearing a PIL filed by Advocate Kushagra Kumar challenging the order of the Delhi Government allegedly sealing the Delhi Border restricting entry of the people coming to Delhi to avail the medical facilities.
The petition stated that “The order of the Delhi Government is not only inhumane, illegal but also authoritarian in nature. Instead of creating medical infrastructure and working on ensuring medical facilities, it is sealing the borders.”
Counsel appearing for the Delhi government submitted before the Court that people can apply for a pass online in case of a medical emergency.
The bench while disposing of the petition directed the Delhi Government to upload its order on the website highlighting the importance of the direction.
