The Delhi High Court on Friday has sought a status report from Tihar Jail Authorities specifically stating if there are any COVID-19 reported cases in Jail No. 4.
A two-judge bench comprising Justice Vipin Sanghi and Justice Rajnish Bhatnagar has issued notice to the Delhi government and Tihar Jail on a bail application filed by Amit through Advocate Mr. Deepak Juneja.
The Court has directed the Additional Public Prosecutor to file a status report specifically whether there are any COVID-19 reported cases in Jail No. 4, Tihar Jail. The Court has also sought information on whether masks are being provided to the prisoners and also whether social distancing is being followed. The Court has also directed to check if there is an outbreak of Chikungunya in the Jail No.4.
The Court has also directed that Jail Superintendent to prepare the concerned report and have also asked to file the latest nominal roll of the appellant.
