Taking note of the problems faced by lawyers and litigants at the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) and National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) due to restricted entry and limited space, the Delhi High Court on Thursday formed a committee headed by the Registrar General of the High Court to suggest solutions and file a report.
The committee apart from Registrar General would comprise Registrars of NCLT and NCLAT, four representatives from the NCLT Bar Association and NCLAT Bar Association, one nominee each from the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Urban Development and CISF, the court said.
During today’s hearing, the single-judge bench of Justice V Kameswar Rao was told by the petitioners that the entry of vehicles into the complex is barred even if the vehicles had the sticker of the bar association. The petitioner prayed that the advocates should be allowed into the complex by showing their ID cards.
To which, the bench sought answer from the Centre asking why the entry of the vehicles having stickers of bar associations were not allowed into the complex.
The Centre responded it by saying that they can’t be allowed as there were sensitive departments operating in the complex and allowing them would pose security threats.
The bench directed the committee to submit a detailed report within four weeks. It also told the committee to submit interim report within two weeks on the entry of cars into the complex plus issuance of cards.
