Delhi HC grants bail to former Andhra Bank director, allegedly involved in multi-crore bank fraud

The Delhi High Court on Monday (August 6) granted bail to Anup Prakash Garg, former Andhra Bank director, who was arrested by Enforcement Directorate (ED) for his alleged role in Rs 5,000 crore bank fraud case, involving a Gujarat-based pharma firm.

The single-judge bench of Justice Mukta Gupta granted bail on the surety of two bonds of Rs 2 lacs subject to the satisfaction of the trial court.

The bench further imposed conditions that Garg will not leave country without prior permission of the court concerned. In case of change of residential address the same will be intimated to the court concerned by way of an affidavit. And Garg will not not directly or indirectly influence the witnesses or interfere in the further investigation.

The bench was acting on bail application filed by Anup Prakash Garg.
