New Delhi: The Delhi High Court on Tuesday has issued a notice in a petition filed seeking directions to release the amount of pension for the Widows amid COVID-19 pandemic.
A division bench of the Chief Justice D.N. Patel and Justice Prateek Jalan has issued notice to the Delhi Government and sought its response.
The petition has been filed by Mr. Harpal Singh Rana, a social worker through his Advocate Mr. Akhil Rana seeking direction to the respondents to release the amount of widow pensioners urgently after due verification of those pensioners whose pension has been withheld and is discontinued only on the imaginary grounds.
Mr. Akhil while appearing before the Court submitted that the Widow pension has been withheld giving a vague reason that the address of the pensioner was not found “आपका पता नहीं मिला”.
The petition stated that “the Parameters/Condition for the Widow Pension and Financial assistance for marriage of the Widow’s daughter are not consistence with each other.”
The court has issued notice and listed the matter for August 26.
