The Delhi High Court on Monday (Oct 29) asked the AAP government as why the kin of the 1984 anti-Sikh riot victims were not given jobs and provided age relaxation by virtue of a Ministry of Home Affairs’ (MoHA) notification dated Jan 16, 2006.

The bench of Chief Justice Rajendra Menon and Justice VK Rao was hearing a plea by Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Committee (DSGMC) seeking implementation of notification dated Jan 16, 2006 of the MoHA wherein the state govt was directed to conduct recruitment drives, provide jobs and provide age relaxation to the kin of the victims of 1984
anti-Sikh riots.

During today hearing, the bench expressed amazement that after so many years, the notification was not adhered to.

Senior Advocate APS Ahluwalia and Advocate Harpreet Singh Hora appearing for DSGMC told the bench that despite receiving notification, the AAP government failed to implemented it none of them have been provided jobs.

The matter will be next heard on Feb 4, 2019.
