Delhi HC reserves verdict on pleas by Rakesh Asthana, Devender Kumar seeking quashing of FIRs against them

A Delhi High Court single-judge bench of Justice Najmi Waziri on Thursday reserved its verdict on the pleas by CBI Special Director Rakesh Asthana and DSP Devender Kumar seeking quashing of FIRs against them by CBI alleging bribery and corruption charges.

On the last hearing, Alok Verma’s counsel had told the court that mandatory legal processes were adhered to while registering an FIR against Asthana on bribery charges.

He had further told the bench of Justice Najmi Waziri that Asthana’s allegations of Verma having malafide intentions against him were false and hence Asthana’s plea should be dismissed.

Kumar’s counsel had also based his arguments mirroring the same arguments put forth by Asthana’s counsel.

After hearing the arguments, the bench had listed the matter to December 20.
