Delhi High Court grants permission to 2 Committees for organising Ramlila, Dussehra celebrations in separate parks

The Delhi High Court has given permission to two Ramlila Committees to organise Ramlila and Dussehra celebrations at two different parks in the national capital.

The Single-Judge Bench of Justice Dinesh Kumar Sharma permitted the Aastha Ramlila Committee and Shree Keshav Dharmik Ramlila to hold Dussehra and Ramlila celebrations at Trinagar and Kirti Nagar parks, from September 21 and October 5.

The High Court, while directing the committees to follow all safety norms during the celebrations, also issued notice to the Delhi Development Authority (DDA).

The Counsel appearing for the societies contended that they had applied for permission on August 25, but DDA did not respond to their request.

As per the petition, the two societies had been organising Ramlila and Dussehra celebrations in these parks with the permission of DDA for the last several years but this time, they were not allowed to hold the same.
