The Delhi University (DU) on Tuesday (July 14) informed the Delhi High Court that it will hold final year undergraduate online Open Book Examinations (OBE) from August 10-31.
The division bench of Justices Hima Kohli and Subramonium, hearing through video conferencing, asked the DU counsel: “Why are the exams starting in mid-August, when, earlier, you were ready for July 1?”
The court was hearing a bunch of petitions filed challenging the exam schedules notified by the Delhi University.
The bench insisted on compressing the timelines for the exams and looking into advancing the dates set for mocks, actual exams, results, and conducting physical examinations.
Professor Vinay Gupta, Dean of Exams, stated that mock tests may be conducted from July 27 to 29, whereas the next mock can be conducted from August 1 to 4. He further submitted that the final exam dates may also be advanced by 8 days.
The court has asked the Delhi University to submit an affidavit mentioning the fresh dates for the declaration of results for online examination by July 17. The matter will be taken up next on July 22.
