A public interest litigation has been filed in the Allahabad High Court seeking a direction for the restoration of Dwadash Madhav temples located in different parts of Prayagraj.
In the PIL filed by Swami Harichaitanya Brahmachari and senior social worker Yogendra Kumar Pandey of Tikarmafi Ashram, a demand has been made to renovate Dwadash Madhav temples located in the four directions of the Sangam area, make parikrama paths and make proper arrangements for traffic.
Advocates Vijay Chandra Srivastava and Sunita Sharma said that it is written in religious texts that Brahma created the universe by performing a yagya in Prayagraj.
In Antarvedi, Madhyavedi and Varhivedi, Shriveni Madhav, Vat Madhav, Asi Madhav, Manohar Madhav, Bindu Madhav, Adi Madhav, Chakra Madhava, Gada Madhava, Padma Madhav, Shankashtra Madhav and Shankha Madhav are seated. At present, the condition of the temples is pathetic.
In the petition, the Secretary, Tourism, Divisional Commissioner Prayagraj, District Magistrate Prayagraj, Vice President Prayagraj Development Authority, Chief City Officer have been impleaded.
