ED moves Delhi HC against court order on interrogation of Delhi Minister Satyendar Jain

The Enforcement Directorate has filed a petition in the Delhi High Court, challenging the order given by the special CBI court, directing presence of Counsel with Delhi Minister Satyendar Jain, during his interrogation by ED.

The Minister, who was arrested in an alleged money laundering case, is presently in ED custody till June 9.

The investigating agency had arrested the Delhi Health Minister on Monday, under Sections of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

ED officials have alleged that the Minister was evasive in his replies. Jain will be allowed to receive food and medicine from outside, during his custody.

ED had, in April 2022, attached sssets worth Rs 4.81 crore linked to the Jain’s in a disproportionate assets (DA) case.

Following the Delhi Minister’s arrest, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal claimed that the Centre could arrest Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia next in a fake case, adding that he had information from a reliable source, which said Sisodia was next in line .

Calling Sisodia the founder of education revolution in India, Kejriwal stated that he urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to put all the Ministers and MLAs from AAP behind bars and ask all the Central agencies to do all investigations at one go.
