New Delhi: The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court has granted anticipatory bail to Shailendra Singh Chauhan, former Additional Chief Standing Counsel of UP, who has been accused by a junior woman lawyer of alleged misconduct and rape in his chamber.
The court has also given the victim two weeks to file an objection. The next hearing of the case has been fixed for October 5.
It was argued before Justice Chandradhari Singh that the accused is a reputed advocate and was falsely implicated in order to obtain money and to grab his chamber located in Vibhuti Khand. On July 31 the court had directed UP police not to arrest the accused in the case.
