Former Union ministers Yashwant Sinha and Arun Shourie on Wednesday petitioned the Supreme Court, seeking review of its December 14 verdict dismissing all PILs alleging irregularities in the procurement of 36 French made Rafale jets.
In their review plea, they alleged that the judgment “relied upon patently incorrect claims made by the government in an unsigned note given in a sealed cover” to the apex court. They said that the judgment contains several errors: apparent on the face of the records which go to the root of the matter. They also said that several new facts have come to light after the judgment was reserved which go to the root of the matter and falsify the claims of the government .
They have also sought that the plea be heard in an open court.
