The Gauhati High Court has closed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) contending that though the Public Health Centre (PHC) at Kamhua, Noknu in the District of Longding was inaugurated on 04.12.2018 by the Chief Minister of the State of Arunachal Pradesh, but, the said PHC at Kamhua, Noknu in the District of Longding is not functional due to lack of adequate infrastructures and man power.
The PIL has been filed by the All Khakam Students Union.
Counter-affidavits of each of the respondents have been filed.
In addition to the counter-affidavits filed by each of the respondents, when the PIL was taken for consideration on 28.09.2022, the counsel for the respondent No. 6 (a NGO) had produced before the Court a letter dated 20.09.2022, written by the Coordinator, of the NGO whereby, it was indicated that one Medical Officer has been posted at PHC, Kamhua, Noknu in the District of Longding and since then said Medical Officer has been serving as Medical Officer in the PHC, Kamhua, Noknu in the District of Longding.
After Medical Officer has been posted at Kamhua, Noknu in the District of Longding as mentioned hereinabove and upon perusal of the statements made by the respondents in their respective counter-affidavits, S. Tsomo , counsel for the petitioner submits that the PHC, Kamhua, Noknu in the District of Longding is now fully functional with adequate infrastructures as well as required man-power.
Upon consideration of the submission made by the counsel for the petitioner, the Division Bench of Justice Nani Tagia and Justice Malasri Nandi closed the PIL.
