Bombay High Court disposes of PIL against night clubs in Goa

The Bombay High Court at Goa disposed of a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed with the grievance that the petitioner’s complaint dated November 30, 2021 about mushrooming of night clubs or the operations of the night clubs in breach of the permissions granted to them, is not being attended to.

The PIL has been filed by one Arnold Dsa. While considering the PIL, the Division Bench of Justice M. S. Sonak and  R. N. Laddha directed the Collector of North Goa and the Collector of South Goa to dispose of the petitioner’s representation dated November 30, 2021 in accord with law and on its own merits, within six weeks.

If the petitioner wishes to place any additional material before the two Collectors, he may do so within one week from the date of order and the Collectors should communicate their decision to the petitioner within this period of six weeks,  the bench further directed.

“With the aforesaid directions, we dispose of this petition. There shall be no order for costs,” the order reads.
