A Delhi court has issued summons to a private TV channel on a defamation case filed by the Popular Front of India (PFI).
According to the PFI petition, news of the arrest of a PFI office-bearer by the Kerala Police for the murder of RSS worker Sanjit was broadcast on the Times Now website and channel. The PFI had filed a defamation case against the channel for defaming them by showing false news.
The petition has sought a ban on the news network from publishing or broadcasting any misleading news against them, along with a compensation of Rs 1 lakh.
The Saket court has fixed the next hearing of the petition on March 3, 2022.
