The Jammu & Kashmir High Court has disposed of a public interest litigation (PIL) seeking the widening of a road to International School in Paloura, Jammu.
The petitioners alleged the road had narrowed due to encroachments, causing hardship for the public, especially school children.
The petitioners had earlier served a legal notice on May 8, 2024, which remained unaddressed, prompting the PIL filing.
The Division Bench of Chief Justice Tashi Rabstan and Justice Puneet Gupta considered the submissions and the pleadings on record.
The court directed authorities to treat the PIL as a representation and decide on the issue within two months, considering the annexures appended to the petition.
