Advocate Satyam Singh on Tuesday has written a letter to the Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court seeking of Standard Operating Procedure for E- Filing of Fresh Urgent Matter. The letter has been signed by Advocates Satyam Singh, Prashant Kumar Shukla and Shivam Singh who are practicing lawyers before the Allahabad High Court.
The letter said that in the wake of this Corona Pandemic (COVID-19), most of the lawyers are facing hardship in obtaining and getting access to electronic signature and suggested to do away with the procedure and a simplified procedure of scanned signature which is prevelant in Delhi High Court and Supreme Court may be adopted.
The letter has also highlighted the issues being faced by the Advocates:
- Mandatory use of Aadhar card linked with mobile no for deponents/ litigants while filing the affidavits.
- Mandatory use of the electronic signature of advocates while filing the case.
Mr. Satyam Singh in his letter has also highlighted the fact that there are many deponents who are having their Aadhar Card Number but their Aadhar Number is not linked with mobile number and suggested that in lieu thereof requirement of Aadhar card number linked with mobile no, it would be better that if normally Aadhar Card Number is asked for irrespective of whether the particular Aadhar Card Number is linked with mobile or not. He also suggested that instead of requirement of Adhaar card, any other valid government id may be asked for such as Voter ID card or Driving License.
The letter states that “No impediments or hurdles should come in the way of access to justice. Lordship, in the view of the above difficulties faced by a large number of advocates and litigants of this Hon’ble Court…graciously issue necessary directions to registry to acknowledge the above-mentioned suggestions.”
