The Madhya Pradesh High Court has disposed of a PIL seeking live streaming of the cause list prepared by the High Court Registry regarding listing of cases for the next day.
The Division Bench of Chief Justice Ravi Malimath and Justice Vishal Mishra disposed of the plea, stating that it did not find any ground to entertain the petition.
However, if any other grievance remained, the petitioner was always at liberty to make a representation to the High Court to consider the same, the High Court directed.
The petitioner sought the following reliefs in public interest:
“The humble petitioner prays that the Court may issue appropriate directions and may kindly direct the respondent for the set up of a proper live screening system at the time of preparation of cause list, so as to avoid unwanted persons hearing the same and also to manage such hearings in camera.
“That, any other relief which this Hon’ble Court deemed fit and proper may also be awarded in favour of the petitioner in the interest of justice. That, costs of the petition may kindly be awarded.”
The Additional Advocate General submitted that so far as live streaming of the cases and in order to avoid unwanted persons especially in the cases of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act is concerned, appropriate orders have already been issued by the High Court to the effect that the interest of the persons involved in the cases of Protection of Children from Sexual Offence Act are well protected.
