The High Court of Madras High has today notified the designation of 62 lawyers as Senior Advocates.
The notification was issued under Section 16 (2) of the Advocates Act, 1961.
About 175 applications were received after the notifications were issued in September 2020 and June 2022. The permanent committee had approved 149 eligible applicants. Interviews with these applicants took place between November 16-23.
On November 24, a meeting was held where the permanent committee cleared 81 names for senior designation, subject to the approval of the full court.
