The Madras High Court disposed of a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) seeking direction to the Respondents to look in the subject matter and to make necessary arrangements to form a sports ground under Amma Rural Youth Sports Federation Scheme along with provision of necessary sports apparatus for the village Kannalam village Valathi post Melmalayanur Taluk Villupuram District under Amma Rural youth sports Federation Scheme within a stipulated time.
The PIl has been filed by one R.Ravichandiran.
While considering the PIL , the Division Bench of Chief Justice Sanjay V. Gangapurwala and Justice D. Bharatha Chakravarthy noted that construction of a sports facility is a policy decision to be taken by the Government.
“Question of availability of funds also would be required to be taken into account.”
A representation dated 22.12.2021, has been given by the petitioner. The respondents may consider the said representation on merits and in accordance with law, preferably within a period of nine months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order , directed by the High Court.
