The Madras High Court disposed of a Petition filed seeking direction forbearing the respondents authorities from collecting service charge in the name of Eco-tourism from the tourists, pilgrims and general public at Suruli falls in Suruli Patti Panchayat, Uthamapalayam Taluk, Theni District.
The counsel for the petitioner submits that respondents Authorities should not collect the service charges in the name of Eco-tourism from the tourists, pilgrims and general public at Suruli falls in Suruli Patti Panchayat, Uthamapalayam Taluk, Theni District.
The Panchayat is already collecting the fees for the vehicles.
The Government Orders are issued from time to time authorising the respondents to collect the necessary vehicle fees and other fees, but the said Government Orders are not the subject matter of challenge in the present writ petition. In the absence of challenge to the said Government Orders, the relief prayed for cannot be granted , the Division Bench of Chief Justice Sanjay V. Gangapurwala and Justice K.K. Ramakrishnan observed.
In case, the petitioner desires to challenge the said Government Orders, it is for him to take appropriate steps by filing appropriate petition. In that event, all contentions are kept open , the Court ordered.
