The Manipur High Court closed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed seeking directions to the State authorities to take immediate action for maintenance, renovation and upgradation of the infrastructure and buildings of ITI Saikot at Churachandpur, Manipur.
The PIL has been filed by one Langthianmung Vualzong .
M. Rakesh, Counsel for the petitioner , draw the attention of the Court to the additional affidavit dated 03.11.2022, wherein the Deputy Secretary (Skills, Lab, Emp & Entrepreneurship), Government of Manipur, furnished the details of the steps taken for upgradation of the ITI Saikot. She stated that ₹.53 lakh was sanctioned for upgradation of the ITI by construction of 3 classrooms and a workshop. She further stated that a sum of ₹.46.28 lakhs was transferred to the Planning and Development Authority, Manipur, in that regard, after deductions .
Athouba Khaidem, Government Advocate, stated that, as per his instructions, the construction has also been carried out.
In the light of these developments, M. Rakesh, Counsel for the petitioner , stated that the issue raised in the petition stands settled and that no further order needs to be passed by the High Court.
Recording the said statement, the Division Bench of Justice Sanjay Kumar and Justice A Bimol Singh closed the PIL.
