The Manipur High Court directed the respondents to expedite the process for recruitment of the staff of the Commerce & Industries Department and to take up necessary steps for posting staff at the e District Industrial Centre Centre Ukhrul and Kamjong Districts as soon as possible.
The Division Bench of Acting Chief Justice MV Muralidaran and Justice A. Bimol Singh closed a Public Interest Litigation fled by one Mashunmung Zimik seeking direction to the respondents to depute or recruit required number of staff for proper functioning of the District Industrial Centre of Ukhrul and Kamjong Distrticts.
In terms of the direction given by this Court, the respondents have filed an additional affidavit dated 09.11.2022 wherein it has been stated that the Government have already transferred and posted three employees at the DIC, Ukhrul and Kamjong Districts and in view of the above, the working strength of employees of the said DIC have increased.
S. Nepolean, Senior Government Advocate, also submitted that the Government has already initiated the process for recruitment of Group –A,B,C & D posts in the Directorate of Commerce and Industries and as and when the recruitment process is completed, necessary staff for manning the said DIC at Ukhrul and Kamjong Districts will be posted in due course.
Taking into consideration the submission advanced by S. Nepolean, the Bench is of the considered view that there is no further requirement for keeping the present PIL pending.
