New Delhi (ILNS): The Allahabad High Court has been informed by the state government that the case of Shiv Kumar Trivedi, a BSc student of BHU, missing from the Lanka Police Station of Varanasi, has been handed over to CB-CID for investigation.
During the hearing of a plea filed by advocate Saurabh Tiwari, ASP Varanasi Vikas Chandra Tripathi told the court that despite tireless efforts the Police had failed to find the missing student.
The state government has decided to hand over the investigation to CB-CID. The Government has sent a letter to the Director-General on October 29. On this, the court has directed the CB-CID to submit a progress report on January 5, next year.
The order was passed by a division bench of Justice Pritinkar Diwakar and Justice PK Srivastava on the PIL of Saurabh Tiwari.
The student was taken to Lanka Police Station for questioning. Since then Shiv Kumar Trivedi, a resident of Panna District of Madhya Pradesh, is missing.

The advocate had sent a letter petition to the Chief Justice, on the basis of which the court directed the SSP to conduct a search. The SSP said that police teams have been formed, they are finding out. However, since the Police failed, now the CB-CID will investigate and find out the student.
