Mumbai outfit moves Allahabad HC seeking ban on Waseem Rizvi book on Prophet Mohammed

Mumbai-based organization Khwaja Garib Nawaz Welfare Association on Tuesday filed a Public Interest Litigation in the Allahabad High Court seeking a ban on the controversial book ‘Mohammed’ by former Shia Waqf Board chairman Wasim Rizvi.

The Petitioner says that Prophet Mohammad and the holy book Quran should not be brought into politics. Wasim Rizvi has been continuously making controversial statements regarding religion. This spoils the atmosphere. Prophet Muhammad is worshiped all over the world and the holy book Quran is also believed and read in 58 Islamic countries. No modification can be done in this.

The Petitioner said that only one book is published in the whole world. Commenting on it or talking of amendments is nothing more than just spoiling the world class environment. Wasim Rizvi is working to break the culture, civilization, unity and integrity of India. He said that there are about 27 cases registered against Wasim Rizvi. There should be a case of sedition and legal action against him.
