NGT forms committee to monitor funds for sewage treatment in Taj Trapezium Zone

The National Green Tribunal on Friday formed a committee to monitor funds for the treatment of sewage generated by the water bodies in the Taj Trapezium Zone (TTZ).

The bench headed by the Chairperson Justice Adarsh Kumar Goel said that the committee should be formed within two months.

During the today’s hearing, the petitioner said that crores of money is being spent on the treatment of sewage waste in the TTZ but it has failed to achieve expected results.

To which the bench said that money should also reach where it is destined to, the corruption involved in the area is responsible for this.

The bench was hearing a plea raising concern over the encroachment of water bodies in the TTZ.
