The Fisheries Department, State of Telangana on Monday said in a report to the NGT that fish whether it is of mixed breed or a hybrid breed must be destroyed.

The petitioner said that the report which has been filed doesn’t say that these fishes have been extracted from his pond.

NGT bench headed by Justice Raghuvendra S Rathore directed Fisheries Department to submit affidavit clarifying whether the said fishes have been extracted from the petitioner’s pond or not.

The hearing was adjourned to Dec 12.

The bench was hearing a plea by one Hussein Khan who had sought intervention of the court saying that the fish which he was breeding was banned by the Fisheries Department, State of Telangana saying that it was banned in India and could not be bred.
