The Kerala High Court has rejected a petition filed by Malayalam actor Dileep seeking a CBI probe into the attack on an actress in which he is among the accused.

The HC threw out his contention that the State police was biased against him while pointing out that as an accused he did not have the privilege to ask for a specific agency to probe. The court also said it found the probe was going on satisfactorily. The case relates to the attack and rape in a moving car on a prominent film actress on the outskirts of Kochi while she was coming back late in the night after shooting for a film in a nearby town. Police the conspiracy was hatched by Dileep.

Last week, the Supreme Court posted for January a petition by the actor seeking access to a memory card which purportedly has visuals of the attack. He had approached the apex court after the HC had dismissed his plea for the same.
